With no Coupe de France final to fill the calendar, PSG face a two-week gap before facing Arsenal and are shaping a plan built on rest and short, intense sessions.

A delegation travelled to Budapest on Thursday to start logistics for the Champions League final. The holders meet Arsenal on Saturday 30 May at 18.00. Before then they play Brest on Sunday, Lens in a rearranged Ligue 1 game on Wednesday 13, then Paris FC on Sunday 17 May, with Luis Enrique set to rotate.

The programme for the fortnight is not yet set, but recovery is a priority after the Bayern Munich semi-finals, 5-4 then 1-1, left players and staff drained. Last year Enrique gave the squad three days off, and a week to seven senior figures, after qualification.

This time he could allow two or three days after the Paris derby, with individual plans, before returning to the Campus de Poissy to maintain fitness and touch and address recent details. The club have ruled out a friendly, due to injury risk, and a mini-camp, judging Poissy’s facilities sufficient and travel already heavy. Sessions are to be followed by family time.

Former PSG, OL and City Group fitness coach Alexandre Marles says breathing space matters, as mental fatigue lingers longer than physical. He argues cutting briefly is fine, what counts is the engagement the week before the final, and favours short, intense work, no more than 90 minutes, with match-like drills. The club see no risk of a mental switch-off, and Marles expects intensity to climb naturally as the final approaches.
