PSG have formally requested that their Ligue 1 away game to RC Lens – initially held on Saturday 11th April – to be moved at a later date in order to provide Luis Enrique’s Les Parisiens a rest between their Champions League quarter-finals against Liverpool FCL’Equipe understands.

The outlet adds that RC Strasbourg – who are through to the Conference League quarter-finals – have also asked to move their Ligue 1 game against Stade Brestois. Gary O’Neil’s Alsatians will face Bundesliga side Mainz in the quarter-finals.

The LFP board will convene on Thursday to decide whether or not those two Ligue 1 games will be moved. Contrary to the previous case when the LFP agreed to move the league game between PSG and Nantes – which gave the Champions League winners extra days of rest to defeat Chelsea 7-2 on aggregate – both clubs involved don’t see eye to eye on the matter.

Logically, PSG would rather not play three decisive games in the span of six days whether RC Lens head coach Pierre Sage said on Friday that Les Sang et Or didn’t have to put up with Les Parisiens‘ schedules. However, the LFP will ultimately decide, whether or not one of the involved parties is in disagreement. And given the LFP generally agrees to the requests of the Ligue 1 sides playing in Europe; those games will probably be moved.
