A cracker of a game in Europe's premier club competition! FC Bayern are away to defending champions Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday evening (live coverage with our text commentary and free web radio on fcbayern.com and in the FC Bayern app from 21.00 CET) in a clash between first and second in the Champions League league phase. "We're in a very good position, we feel ready and fit. There's a lot of anticipation but also tension, of course. These are two teams who are right at the top level," said board member for sport Max Eberl. Here’s all you need to know ahead of the game in our preview.
Final training, travel, press conference & more - catch up on how Bayern's day went before the away game at PSG:
15 games, 15 wins - FC Bayern have started the season with an impressive run that is unrivalled in Europe's top leagues. Last weekend, coach Vincent Kompany's side once again impressed across the board in a 3-0 home win against Bayer 04 Leverkusen. In the Champions League, there have been three clear victories so far against Chelsea (3-1), Paphos (5-1) and Club Brugge (4-0). The men from Munich are currently in second place in the league phase, with only upcoming opponents Paris Saint-Germain ahead of them despite being being level on points and goal difference but by virtue of having scored more goals. "We've earned the right to go in there full of enthusiasm. It has to be rock ‘n’ roll. They have confidence, we have confidence - it's going to be a great game," said the Bayern head coach.
The match is not only particularly exciting in terms of the table. Over the past few years, whenever the two clubs have met it's been at the highest level. In the last Champions League campaign, FCB won 1-0 against PSG in the league phase, but lost 2-0 in the quarter-finals of the Club World Cup in the summer. "The last few games have always been evenly matched and the team that scored the first goal usually won. It will be a cracker. We're going there with confidence and hope to win," said Serge Gnabry. Joshua Kimmich said that "a little rivalry" had developed from the clashes in recent years. "It feels like we play against PSG every year," added the midfield strategist, reflecting and formulating a clear goal for the clash on Tuesday: "We're going there to win."

Alongside FC Bayern, Paris Saint-Germain are among the five teams to have picked up the maximum nine points from three games in the current Champions League campaign. The French serial champions impressively underlined their title ambitions in Europe's premier club competition in their opening match against Atalanta (4-0), but above all in their most recent clashes with Barcelona (2-1) and Bayer 04 Leverkusen (7-2).
In the domestic Ligue 1, the reigning champions' confidence has taken a bit of a knock. PSG recently drew 1-1 at sixteenth-placed Lorient and struggled to a narrow 1-0 win at home to Nice last weekend thanks to Gonçalo Ramos' late knockout blow (90'+4). However, coach Luis Enrique's side are still top of the table with a two-point lead over second-placed Olympique Marseille.
Despite a number of absences, particularly in attack - Ballon d'Or winner Ousmane Dembélé was sidelined for weeks at the start of the season due to a thigh injury and Désiré Doué is currently also having to take a break - PSG are a long way away from experiencing a goal drought, as the seven-goal victory in Leverkusen made clear. The second attacking line featuring Senny Mayulu, Bradley Barcola and Gonçalo Ramos is also performing at a very high level. The last-minute win against Nice proved the team from the capital also have the necessary fighting spirit. "It's great that we all have this mentality," stressed Enrique after the game.

With the exception of the long-term injured Alphonso Davies (cruciate ligament rupture), Hiroki Ito (metatarsal fracture) and Jamal Musiala (ankle dislocation and fibula fracture), the rest of the players were able to make the trip to Paris. Ito, however, was able to complete the final training session with the team.
PSG will be without Désiré Doué (muscle strain) and Ilya Zabarnyi (suspended) against Bayern.
