Paris Saint-Germain star Nuno Mendes has revealed his take that Barcelona youngster Lamine Yamal currently stands as the 2nd best player in world football.

This of course comes after the two players locked horns for the latest occasion on Wednesday night.

PSG made the daunting trip to Catalunya’s capital yesterday evening, for a Champions League showdown with Hansi Flick’s Barca.

When all was said and done, the visitors recovered from a goal down, to secure all three points courtesy of a 2-1 triumph.

Instrumental in as much was the aforementioned Nuno Mendes, who laid on the assist for PSG’s equaliser.

Not only that, but the Portuguese did a superb job of keeping tabs on Barcelona sensation Lamine Yamal down the French champions’ left flank.

Speaking to the media after being named Man of the Match on Wednesday, Mendes, in turn, was drawn on his latest battle with the 18-year-old.

And the gifted full-back made use of the opportunity to reveal his take that Lamine can be considered the 2nd best player in the world at present, presumably behind teammate and Ballon d’Or winner Ousmane Dembélé:

“It’s always a pleasure to play against him. He’s the second best player in the world. We all wanted to win.”
