QPR need a new goalkeeper this summer, and Lukas Jensen could be the right man for them if Millwall sign Anthony Patterson
It's safe to say QPR are in desperate need of a new goalkeeper this coming summer.
The Hoops are currently sat in the top half of the Championship heading into the final couple of weeks of the campaign, and that's despite only bottom club Sheffield Wednesday shipping more goals than them this season.
What's arguably even more frustrating is that QPR's 65 goals conceded have come from an expected goals against tally of just 51.3, which means that Julien Stephan's backline hasn't exactly been easy to create chances against, but they still concede the few ones that they face.
The R's boss has experimented with all three of Paul Nardi, Ben Hamer and Joe Walsh this season, but the results have all been the same, and the first port of call in the upcoming transfer window will be to bring in someone new in between the sticks who can help push them towards being a play-off side next season.
They may not need to search too far to find that person, though, as someone who has been in the shadows for the entire campaign at Millwall could be in line for a move this coming summer.

If QPR need a new goalkeeper this summer, Danish shot-stopper Lukas Jensen should be on their radar, as he'd definitely be an upgrade on the three currently available to Julien Stephan.
The 27-year-old has endured a difficult 2025/26 campaign, as a couple of serious injuries have derailed his chances of making a senior appearance for Alex Neil's side.
Jensen suffered an Achilles injury in training last April, which took him out of the final four games of the campaign as the Lions fell just shy of a play-off place. Then, earlier this season, as he was closing in on a full return, he picked up a quad injury in December while playing for the Under-21s and hasn't been seen since.
It's been a really frustrating campaign for the shot-stopper, who had come off the back of a solid first season in the Championship, making a step up from League One, where he was one of the best players in his position for Lincoln City in the 2023/24 campaign, keeping 19 clean sheets and preventing six goals.
Last season, the number of saves he made, and the goals prevented numbers went down as he made the move to a second-tier side in Millwall, who are well renowned for being hard to break down. That being said, he still kept 13 clean sheets and prevented 0.9 goals, per the xG he faced.
Even bringing in someone who concedes the number of xG the team faces would be an ideal upgrade for QPR, as it would see them on 51 goals conceded, rather than the 65 they're currently on. Only the current top three and Middlesbrough have better defensive records than that.
So, if Jensen is fit come the start of the season, the Hoops could do a lot worse than to target him, especially if the 27-year-old is no longer Millwall's number one next season.

With Jensen picking up that injury, Alex Neil looked to the loan market to bring in a new shot-stopper to act as number one between now and the end of the campaign.
There, he found Anthony Patterson, who is clearly well-liked by Neil, after his emergence into the Sunderland fold came under the Scottish boss in the latter stages of the 2021/22 campaign, when the Black Cats secured promotion to the Championship.
The 25-year-old was a mainstay in Sunderland's side last season, but the demands to improve the squad ahead of the ongoing Premier League campaign saw the academy product ousted from the side, being replaced by the impressive Robin Roefs.
If Patterson is allowed to leave the Stadium of Light permanently in the summer, you'd expect Millwall to be right at the front of the queue, not only due to his relationship with Alex Neil, but also because he's performed admirably in between the sticks during his short time at the Den thus far.
Five clean sheets in 11 games is a solid return, and regardless of which division Millwall find themselves in next season, the 25-year-old could be one of the first pieces of business that the Lions look to do, which would leave a returning Jensen playing back-up - a role he's clearly better than.
QPR would be able to offer the 27-year-old first-team football and an opportunity to play in a play-off-calibre squad once more, and with the Hoops on the fringes of a top-10 finish, regardless of their shaky defence, adding Jensen could be the difference between landing in the revamped top-eight next season or remaining in the Championship mid-table.
