Having joined QPR from Liverpool in 2022, Elijah Dixon-Bonner has struggled to cement a starting role for the R's with patience fast running out for his time at the club amongst fans.

In an attempt to secure regular game-time, the former England youth international spent the final few months of the season on loan with Swedish second-tier outfit Vasteras. However, this plan didn't work out for him as he merely made five appearances for the club, three of which were from the bench.

It was commonly thought that the midfielder would leave QPR this summer after attracting interest from lower league EFL clubs as well as him being linked with a move to Carlisle United, who faced relegation to the National League last season.

With the transfer window now over, Football League World's QPR fan pundit, Louis Moir, can't quite believe how Dixon-Bonner is still a QPR player.

QPR stance offered on "not good enough" Elijah Dixon-Bonner amidst lower league interest

Queens Park Rangers have had a busy summer transfer window, with a new look to their attack with the likes of Richard Kone, Karamoko Dembélé, and Kwame Poku joining the R's. Despite arrivals bringing a buzz to Loftus Road, one man that Hoops fans expected to leave this summer was Dixon-Bonner, who will surely be seeking a January exit.

Football League World's QPR fan pundit, Louis Moir said, "I can't quite for the life of me understand how Elijah Dixon-Bonner is still a QPR player officially. This guy has been given opportunities and is clearly, clearly, not good enough for this level."

"There was interest from lower league clubs, but deals have just not happened.

"Some fans thought he may have had some sort of ability, and he could have been useful, but I never saw it with him. He never affected games, he's clearly not up to it, and for his own sake he needs to leave and try and get some sort of career going at an age where he still can."

A move back overseas could be Elijah Dixon-Bonner's only option for his career revival

With Dixon-Bonner failing to piece together a run of game-time, let alone form for QPR, he has had a torrid time in West London which looks to be soon coming to an end. The central midfielder is, unsurprisingly, not getting a look in with the first-team squad and has made a few appearances with the U21's squad during his time with the Hoops.

That being said, FLW's QPR fan pundit, Louis, stressed the importance that if he is to have any sort of career, a search overseas may be his route of exit as English clubs are seemingly uninterested in Dixon-Bonner's signature.

Louis said, "You've seen a few players who end up going abroad, such as the likes of Osman Kakay and players like that who eventually get a move out there. Obviously, it's an awful level, but if he wants some sort of career, I think he might have to take that plunge, because if lower level clubs in England are not taking him, then in the nicest way, he hasn't got much of a chance if he wants to build a career here."

"So, it's just really surprising. You thought it would be a certainty that he would've left on loan, release contract, anything, to just get him gone, but it's a strange one. It really is a strange one."
