Queens Park Rangers beat Watford 2-1 at Loftus Road, climbing from 12th to 10th in the Championship.

Rayan Kolli opened the scoring in the 26th minute, glancing in from close range after Paul Smyth's cushioned header.

Egil Selvik kept the visitors in contention with sharp stops from Kolli before the break and again after the restart.

Smyth doubled the lead with a calm finish from the centre of the box (63.). Half time substitute Daniel Bennie soon drew another low save as the hosts chased a third.

Imran Louza curled a free kick into the top left to cut the deficit (85.), setting up a nervy finale.

Six minutes were added. The Hornets forced a late corner, but Joe Walsh and his back line stood firm to see the game out.

Queens Park Rangers registered eight shots on target from 15 attempts. The Hornets recorded three efforts on target from seven attempts.
