Rafa Mir trial: woman says she began crying and begged him to stop | OneFootball

Rafa Mir stood trial in Valencia on Thursday over alleged sexual assault and injuries, with prosecutors seeking 10 and a half years in prison. The hearing was held at the Audiencia Provincial de Valencia.

According to AS, Mir arrived after half past nine, testimony began around half past ten and ran past five. The case stems from a complaint in September 2024, when he was a Valencia player.

The court heard from Andrea N.M., who said she met Mir at Mya nightclub around four, kissed him, then went to his house with friends near seven. She alleged he threw her into the pool despite her protests, then kissed her and penetrated her with his fingers. After failing to find her phone, she tried to leave, returned for her bag, and said Mir grabbed her arm and repeated the act in a bathroom, leaving her in tears and struggling to breathe.

Her friend Carla A. told the court she had sex with Mir in a laundry room, that Andrea felt uncomfortable, and that later Pablo Jara touched her intimately. She said both women were pushed outside in underwear, a neighbour with a dog raised the alarm, and police arrived.

Other witnesses described one woman as very nervous. Local police said Andrea initially told them everything had been consensual and that Mir was calm. A forensic doctor reported no gynaecological injuries.

Mir answered only his lawyer’s questions, insisting all encounters were consensual. He said he had intimate contact with Andrea and sex with Carla, and later tried to calm a dispute. He acknowledged giving police a wrong name for Jara and said he was shocked to be arrested.
