According to Central do Timão, Corinthians goalkeeper Rafael Juwer, 18, is close to a move to Italy, with Cavese, who play in the country's third tier, expected to be his destination. Corinthians are expected to retain 20% of his economic rights. He holds Italian citizenship, so he would not count as a foreign player.
His contract with Corinthians runs until March 2027. He joined Parque São Jorge in 2022 for the Sub-14 and moved up to Sub-17 two years later, but played only seven matches as Arthur Borghi was first choice. Borghi has also recently left, agreeing a transfer to Hellas Verona.
He has been on loan at Criciúma since the start of this year, playing for the Sub-20 and making senior squads in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série B. On Thursday morning, Corinthians registered his deal in the Boletim Informativo Diário (BID), a routine step ahead of any release.
Before Criciúma, he spent 2024 to 2025 on loan with Roma’s youth teams. He returned in early July last year after the Italian club chose not to take up a 120,000 euro option, valued at about R$ 700,000.
In Corinthians’ Sub-20, coach William Batista has Matheus Corrêa, Pietro, Nicollas Siqueira and Ricardo Shultz available in goal, while Gustavo Milani, the Sub-17 starter, has also featured at the higher age group.
