After a failed loan spell at Nottingham Forest, Santos spent 18 months on loan at sister club Strasbourg and really made an impact.

Ramires thinks Andrey Santos can become a key asset for Chelsea

Santos thrived in Ligue 1 last season as he really showed his quality in midfield with ten goals as Strasbourg qualified for the Conference League.

The 21-year-old made his long awaited Chelsea debut at the Club World Cup, and has played a part in all three of Chelsea’s league games this season.

Santos is set for a key role this season, and Chelsea have always maintained the midfielder wasn’t for sale this summer.

That didn’t stop teams trying and West Ham had an offer of £45m for Santos rejected, whilst Saudi side Al-Qadsiah made an offer worth €70m.

Santos revealed why he turned down the move to Saudi Arabia, and former Chelsea star Ramires believes he can become a key asset for the Blues.

“Andrey Santos is a talented midfielder with great potential,” Ramires said as quoted on X.com.

“I’ve seen his ability to control the game and contribute both defensively and offensively.

“It’s important for him to keep developing his skills and adapting to the demands of the Premier League. If he continues to work hard and learn from experienced players, I believe he can become a key asset for Chelsea.”

Brazilian players making their mark at Chelsea

Santos isn’t the only Brazilian player who’s impressed at Chelsea this season, with fellow new boys Joao Pedro and Estevao Willian also leaving their mark.
