With Manchester United yet to sign a striker, the club plans to revisit its list of backup strikers as June comes to a close.
Liam Delap, one of INEOS’ priority targets, has chosen Chelsea over the Red Devils, and Ruben Amorim’s top choice, Viktor Gyokeres, seems to prefer Arsenal at the moment.
Victor Osimhen’s wage demands remain too high, and with the lack of European football next season, the 20-time English league champions have been forced into their B list of targets.
Moise Kean is on that list, as is Randal Kolo Muani, who spent the last six months on loan at Juventus from Paris Saint-Germain.
After a nightmare spell in the French capital, the Frenchman seemed to re-find his mojo in Turin, scoring eight times while registering two assists in all competitions in only 1200 minutes of action.
And Juve are planning to secure his signature on a permanent basis, with the 26-year-old currently with the Bianconeri in the United States for the Club World Cup, where he has two goals in as many games as well as an assist.
But Tutto Juve have claimed that the Red Devils have asked the Ligue 1 champions about the conditions of a deal, and they have been joined in the race by Newcastle.
And while the striker has claimed he would be delighted to secure a permanent switch to Juve, the race remains open as things stand.
“It’s not just Chelsea, as reported by L’Equipe, on Randal Kolo Muani (26). For the French striker, according to rumors collected by Tuttojuve.com, Manchester United and Newcastle United have also asked for information.
“Nothing concrete yet, there is only an inquiry by the English clubs. Juventus, for its part, hopes to buy him outright and will speak with PSG at the end of the Club World Cup.
“Kolo Muani is very happy, as stated several times, in black and white and is no longer in Luis Enrique’s plans. The game is still open.”
PSG are looking to sell the France international with a previous update claiming £35 million would be enough to get him onboard. But the 20-time English league champions were initially hoping for a loan, but with Juventus keen to get their man on a permanent basis, INEOS could be forced to act decisively if they are to win the race.
Whether United will actually go after the Frenchman will depend on player sales with the club currently tied up with Brentford, trying to sign Bryan Mbeumo.
Randal Kolo Muani has been a long-term target for the club and INEOS came close to signing him in January, only for the player to choose Turin over Manchester. Whether he changes his mind now, remains to be seen.
