As Roma prepares for the trip to Bologna, tensions continue between Gasperini and Ranieri.
The two haven’t spoken since the Pisa game, and there are no signs of an imminent reconciliation. Yesterday, after a week, the senior advisor returned to Trigoria.
The last time Ranieri was seen at the training center was last Tuesday.
This isn’t a new occurrence this season, given that his role doesn’t require a regular presence. This was also one of the points of contention with Gasperini, who, at least initially, wanted him closer. This is exactly the opposite of what it is now.
As Il Messaggero reports, the two men ignored each other yesterday, a sign that the rift is now irreparable. The coach, however, spoke with the Friedkins’ trusted representative, sent by the Texans to try to restore calm.
The future is still undecided, especially since Gasperini has asked not to work with Ranieri anymore, but Ranieri isn’t planning on resigning. The club is at a crossroads, but hasn’t made a decision yet.
