Brighton forward Evan Ferguson is one to watch ahead of the final days of the January transfer window.

Ferguson has failed to earn a regular role in Fabian Hurzeler’s role and is open to an exit in search of minutes. Loan proposals and permanent offers are understood to be under consideration, with a wealth of clubs interested in the 20-year-old.

The Republic of Ireland international burst onto the scene during the 2022/23 campaign and last season became just the fourth player aged 18 or under to score a Premier League hat-trick.

Several sides are still searching for goal threat ahead of the February 3rd deadline in Europe’s top five leagues and we’ve looked at the sides in the running to sign Ferguson.

Using the latest odds from Bettingranker.com we’ve looked at the bookmakers’ favourites to sign Evan Ferguson.

Marseille – 25/1

Marseille are an outside contender to sign Ferguson with head coach Roberto De Zerbi familiar with the forward’s game. De Zerbi coached Ferguson at Brighton, where the precocious forward made his mark on the south coast.

The Italian has led Marseille to second in Ligue 1, having raided English football for signings last summer. Pierre-Emile Hoijberg, Mason Greenwood and Jonathan Rowe all transferred from English clubs to the South of France in the summer window.

Bayer Leverkusen – 14/1

Bayer Leverkusen have been linked with adding Ferguson to their options this month. The German champions have assessed the market for centre-forward options, amid interest in Victor Boniface from the Saudi Pro League. However, Al Nassr’s pivot towards a deal for Aston Villa frontman Jhon Duran means Boniface is likely to remain in Leverkusen. With Patrik Schick also in red-hot form, the need for Ferguson appears redundant as things stand.

Bournemouth – 10/1

Bournemouth are without an established centre-forward option at present as Andoni Iraola managers an injury crisis superbly. Evanilson and Enes Unal have each been ruled out for extended periods, leaving 21-year-old Daniel Jebbison as the only striker in the squad.

Though Ferguson is 14 months Jebbison’s junior, he boasts a proven record in the Premier League with 13 goals from just 27 starts. Dango Ouattara has made his mark as an auxiliary option, but Ferguson would offer an out-and-out focal point as the Cherries challenge for Champions League football.

Everton – 7/1

Everton have struggled for goals in recent seasons and the current campaign has been no different. The Toffees have scored just 19 times in 28 games, with only bottom-of-the-table Southampton having netted fewer.

Injuries to Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Armando Broja have also left David Moyes in need of depth and the latter’s loan is set to be curtailed to free up room in the squad. Ferguson appears an attractive option for Everton if Moyes can get a deal over the line.

West Ham – 4/6

West Ham are the favourites to sign Ferguson and reportedly preparing a loan offer with an obligation to buy.

A move to the London Stadium would see Ferguson reunite with former Brighton boss Graham Potter, his first senior coach at the Amex Stadium. West Ham have a well-documented history of poor recruitment when it comes to forwards, but Ferguson is regarded as one of the brightest number nine prospects in English football.

With Jarrod Bowen, Niclas Fullkrug and Michail Antonio all sidelined, his arrival would be a big boost to the East London outfit.
