According to Sunderland Echo, Sunderland supporters’ group Red and White Army (RAWA) has issued a fresh statement criticising the club’s handling of ongoing ticketing problems, citing poor communication and unresolved cases affecting long-standing fans.

The group had urged a pause on releasing unrenewed season tickets, but says the sale still went ahead despite what it describes as a significant number of outstanding issues. RAWA said the proposal was meant to smooth the process and recognise loyal supporters’ circumstances.

RAWA also raised concern that its request did not receive a final response, which it views as part of a recent pattern when trying to represent fans’ views to the club. The group says many long-standing season ticket holders report extremely poor customer service, and some feel overlooked when seeking to move seats.

The statement adds to growing scrutiny of Sunderland’s ticketing operations following promotion to the Premier League, with fans sharing detailed accounts of problems around renewals, seat moves and pricing structures. RAWA argues these are not isolated cases, but part of a wider issue affecting a cross-section of the fanbase, particularly veteran season ticket holders.

The group says it hopes the club will re-engage constructively with RAWA so those affected can reach a fair and satisfactory outcome. The club declined to comment on the concerns this week.
