Sebastian Kehl (in the mixed zone): “We created a lot of chances and should have won by a much bigger margin. Overall, we didn’t give away much in defence, so it wasn’t as difficult for him (Luca Reggiani, ed.) as it might have been in other games. The first goal was brilliantly played! When you score a goal, you naturally stand out a bit more. The way he celebrated was pure joy coming from deep within, and it was the reward for many, many years of hard work. Niko Kovac (at the press conference): “We had a really good game from the first to the last minute, dominated the opposition, didn’t give anything away, and not only scored two beautiful goals ourselves, but ultimately created three or four very good, top-class chances as well. The way we played was the exact opposite of what we saw last week, when we won but I wasn’t satisfied with the performance. Today, everything went perfectly. The team showed a really good response to the Köln game.”

Felix Nmecha (in the mixed zone): “When you start a game this well, with everyone fighting and everyone wanting the ball, it’s great fun. We really enjoyed it and we had much more possession than in recent games. I enjoy playing in the number six role, but I also enjoy playing a bit higher up the pitch (referring to his more attacking role today, ed.).”

Waldemar Anton (in the mixed zone): “We wanted to show our dominance and were in control for the full 90 minutes, which was very, very important. And we started the second half well, which is something that hasn’t always been the case in recent matches. Luca (Reggiani, ed.) put in a very good performance. I always start with his defending, because at the end of the day he’s a defender, and he did that very well, without making any mistakes.
