Real Madrid’s long-term recruitment strategy continues to revolve around securing elite young talent, and the latest name to enter the club’s radar is Flamengo sensation Ryan Roberto

According to a new report from Defensa Central, the Spanish giants are closely monitoring the progress of the 17-year-old winger, who has quickly become one of the standout performers in Brazilian youth football.

Roberto has been producing exceptional numbers for Flamengo’s U17 side this season.

Operating primarily on the left wing, the teenager has already registered 21 goals and 14 assists, statistics that are drawing attention from top European clubs.

His blend of speed, creativity, and maturity in the final third has naturally alerted Juni Calafat, the mastermind behind Real Madrid’s recent wave of successful Brazilian signings.

Another Brazilian gem in the making

Calafat’s track record in South America speaks for itself. His scouting network successfully identified and secured players such as Vinicius Jr., Rodrygo, and, most recently, Endrick.

Given this background, it is no surprise that Roberto has moved onto the club’s watchlist as one of the region’s next rising stars.

However, Real Madrid are not alone in the chase, as Paris Saint-Germain have also shown concrete interest in the Flamengo attacker.

Some in Spain believe PSG’s pursuit is partly motivated by the disappointment they felt this summer after missing out on Franco Mastantuono.

The Argentine midfielder was on the verge of joining the French club before Florentino Perez intervened.

There is a release clause

Roberto’s growing reputation in Brazil has led Flamengo to protect their asset with a release clause worth €50 million, a substantial valuation for a 17-year-old.

Still, it wouldn’t be the first time Real Madrid have made a significant financial commitment for an extraordinary young talent.

Notably, the winger joined Flamengo’s academy in 2023 after a spell at Athletico Paranaense.

The club currently owns 50% of his economic rights but can secure an additional 20% for €1.5 million, a clause they are yet to activate.
