Real Madrid announced on Monday that captain Dani Carvajal, 34, will leave at the end of the season after more than 20 years at the club, including 13 with the first team.
Injuries since 2024 have curtailed the right-back, a long-time symbol of the Spanish giants. Madrid are set to complete a second successive season without a major trophy next weekend.
Carvajal will depart as one of the most decorated players in the game, with 27 trophies, including six Champions Leagues, four Liga titles and two Copas del Rey. The Spain international has 52 caps and was European champion in 2024.
He made his 450th appearance for the club on Sunday. Carvajal has worn the shirt since 2002, progressing from the academy to the senior side, and spent one season at Bayer Leverkusen from 2012 to 2013.
Real say he will receive a tribute during the final match of the season on Saturday at the Santiago Bernabéu, against Athletic Bilbao.
