Real Madrid and Barcelona are no strangers to battling it out for the most promising talent in Spain, and Los Blancos have come out triumphant from the latest bout. They have signed documents with Belarussian child Aliaksei Mayorau.

Just 12 years old, Mayorau has caught the attention of a number of Europe’s top clubs playing for Cerdanyola, just outside Barcelona. Despite the Catalan side pushing hard for his signature, say Marca, Miayorau and his family have elected to sign with Real Madrid, and he will move to Valdebebas this summer.

These days it is not uncommon for big clubs to be on the scene at younger and younger ages, as is evidenced by the fact that Real Madrid were already scouting Endrick Felipe at the age of just 14 in Brazil. It’s somewhat alarming to think of kids of such a young age perhaps carrying the hopes of a family for the future, and hopefully Los Blancos will be able to shield him from the pressure.
