With the signing of Marc Cucurella, Real Madrid have further strengthened the left-back position which already had three players in Alvaro Carreras, Fran Garcia, and Ferland Mendy.
As such, there will be at least one departure in the position, with everything suggesting that Garcia will be the one sacrificed, considering that new manager Jose Mourinho wants to keep Carreras and Mendy is out injured until November.
As reported earlier, Real Betis have emerged as a strong contender to sign Garcia from Real Madrid this summer.
Now, according to AS, Real Madrid are asking for a fee of €10 million to sell the Spanish left-back to Real Betis.

Los Verdiblancos have identified Garcia as one of their priority targets to strengthen the left-back position ahead of next season and have already opened discussions with Real Madrid over a potential transfer.
Indeed, Manuel Pellegrini’s Betis have made initial contact with the Spanish giants to understand the conditions of a deal, with Real Madrid valuing the 26-year-old at around €10 million.
Negotiations are already underway, although Real Betis will also need to address the player’s salary demands, which are significantly higher than the club’s usual wage structure.
Despite those financial obstacles, Garcia remains one of Betis’ preferred options alongside Kaiki Bruno, and there is optimism in Seville that a deal could be achievable for the 2026/27 campaign.

Garcia came through the youth ranks at Real Madrid before leaving for Rayo Vallecano in the summer of 2020. Three years later, Los Blancos re-signed the Spaniard by activating a buyback clause.
However, since his return in 2023, the 26-year-old defender has been unable to nail down a place for himself in the starting lineup, be it under Carlo Ancelotti, Xabi Alonso, or Alvaro Arbeloa.
In the three years since his return, Garcia has only played 109 matches, scoring three and assisting 13 goals. This past season, he featured in 23 games in all competitions, giving an indication of his standing within the squad.
With Cucurella also arriving, his situation will only stand to worsen, thus making a departure the right move. And, with only one year left on his contract, a fee of €10 million would be good business for Real Madrid.
