The current squad at La Liga giants Real Madrid secured for themselves a piece of club history this past season.
Unfortunately for Los Blancos’ stars, however, as much came for altogether less than positive reasons.
Real are of course fresh off another outing to forget earlier this week.
After booking their spot in the semi-finals of the newly-formatted FIFA Club World Cup, the capital outfit were sent packing from the competition in unceremonious fashion.
This came by way of a 4-0 drubbing at the hands of French champions Paris Saint-Germain.
And as alluded to above, in the process, Real Madrid equalled an altogether undesirable club record.
As revealed by One Football:
‘Real Madrid conceded 84 goals in all competitions this season, equalling their worst defensive record ever.’
This statistic should of course be taken with a grain of salt, as Los Merengues played more games in the 2024/25 campaign than ever before.
