It is no secret that Real Madrid have great admiration for Manchester City and Spain midfield superstar Rodri.
The Merengues have had their eyes on the 2024 Ballon d’Or winner for some time now, and even weighed up a move this past summer, ultimately deciding against it.
However, Rodri very much remains in the Spanish capital club’s eyesight heading into 2026, given that the team is looking for a midfield conductor.
As such, Express in England now reports that Real Madrid are weighing up a mammoth £130 million swoop for Rodri in the summer of 2026.
The Spanish international’s contract with Manchester City expires in 2027 and an agreement over a new deal has not been reached yet.

Real Madrid hope to capitalise on that and sign the 2024 UEFA Euro winner with a massive bid worth £130 million next summer.
However, as per the report, Manchester City have no intentions of letting go of their prized midfielder, despite his recent growing injury concerns.
Indeed, club chairman Khaldoon Al-Mubarak is absolutely determined to keep hold of Rodri amidst the interest from Real Madrid.
As such, the Premier League heavyweights plan to open contract negotiations with the Spanish international soon, promising him a significant raise in exchange for him committing the rest of his career to the club.
Rodri is currently in his sixth year at Manchester City, having joined them in 2019 from Real Madrid’s bitter rivals Atletico Madrid. During this time, he has tasted great success at the Etihad Stadium, winning 11 major trophies.
