Real Madrid are closely monitoring Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise, with the French international being considered the next Galactico target by Florentino Perez & co.

Reports in France earlier this week claimed that the 24-year-old attacker was also keen on the move, leading to speculations that the Merengues were ready to launch a record bid.

Since then, however, it has been claimed that the Spanish giants are determined not to pursue the Frenchman at the expense of damaging their strong institutional relationship with the Bundesliga champions.

Olise’s ambitions

Now, though, according to a report published by German newspaper BILD, Olise has already communicated his desire to leave Bavaria to secure a dream move to the Santiago Bernabeu.

The 24-year-old winger opened up about his aspirations directly to his international teammates within the French national camp during the ongoing 2026 FIFA World Cup.

However, as things stand, a bitter transfer standoff remains highly unlikely as the former Crystal Palace winger will not force a departure from Bayern Munich.

Olise is generally happy with life in Munich and is universally regarded across the footballing landscape as a professional who is not known for causing friction or forcing his way out of a club.

Bayern pushing for renewal

Meanwhile, despite the player’s underlying desires, Bayern Munich remain thoroughly determined to retain their star asset, who has excelled in his two years at the club.

Rather than entertaining formal transfer approaches, the German club’s executive board is preparing a massive counter-strategy.

Bayern intend to tie Olise down to a long-term contract extension by offering a bumper salary exceeding €25 million gross per year.

Such a package would effectively double his current wage, instantly elevating him into the tier of the club’s top earners alongside talisman Harry Kane.

Real Madrid are well aware of this delicate dynamic. Consequently, the Spanish heavyweights are content to wait in the wings, refusing to initiate negotiations unless the player himself asks to leave and Bayern open the doors for a negotiation.

For now, there is mutual interest between Olise and Real Madrid to make a move happen. Only time will tell whether it materialises.
