It is no secret that Real Madrid are looking to revamp their defence for next season and the strategic signing of Dean Huijsen was a move towards the same objective.
Next summer, Los Blancos are looking to lure in another big name to reinforce the department with the likes of Ibrahima Konate and Dayot Upamecano strongly linked.
The club’s movements in recent months and links with another young defender next summer, thus, suggest that they see it to be the right time to phase away from the current veteran crop.
As confirmed by Fabrizio Romano in a recent report, there are good chances that Alaba leaves the club next summer and his future is looking increasingly away from the Spanish capital.
No official communication has been made from the player or his entourage yet but all signs point to him parting ways with the club.

Earlier this season, there was talk of Alaba looking to extend his contract with Real Madrid and even looking for a longer-term association with the club.
The veteran’s regular injuries, however, do not do justice to his massive wages and the club do not see it as sustainable to keep him given his limited output.
Alaba’s prominence after his return from injury has been limited at best as he played no part in the team’s three games before the international break and featured for just nine minutes against Real Sociedad earlier this week.
Xabi Alonso’s limited use of the player sends a clear message that he does not count heavily on him and that his days at the club are numbered.
An official decision from the player, however, is awaited. After all, the club even offered to pay him out for him to leave this summer and their stance is clear.
