On Wednesday, the Real Madrid players were put through some intense physical tests by new fitness coach Antonio Pintus.
A trusted resource of club president Florentino Perez, the Italian was reinstated as the first-team physical trainer soon after Xabi Alonso’s dismissal as manager.
And, Pintus is already busy at work to ensure that the Merengues’ physical condition improves after the team had been found wanting in the closing stages of matches.
Now, according to MARCA, Real Madrid young midfielder Arda Guler posted the best results in the physical tests designed by Pintus on Wednesday.
The session included a series of assessments in which players worked with metabolic masks capable of measuring, in real time, the oxygen inhaled and the CO₂ exhaled.
This technology allows the coaching staff to obtain data on aerobic performance, respiratory efficiency and each player’s capacity for effort.

In that context, Guler stood out above the rest, recording the best figures within the group. This is particularly significant given the demanding nature of the tests and the physical profile of the squad, which includes players considered stronger than the Turkish youngster.
The outcome reinforces the internal belief that the player has not only taken a step forward tactically this season, playing in a position that is not his natural one, but also physically, an aspect that is decisive for competing regularly at the highest level at Real Madrid.
Beyond the impact of Pintus’ tests, the internal message is that Guler is meeting the demands in physical terms as well. This factor could prove decisive in his career at Real Madrid, helping to dispel the idea that his physique is not suited to playing in midfield.
Alongside Güler, Fran García, Federico Valverde and David Alaba also featured among the most notable performers of the physical session.
Particularly significant was the case of Garcia, who demonstrated that he is in top physical condition after being close to leaving the club during the winter transfer window. His performance in the tests underlined his commitment to the team and his competitive readiness.
Valverde also stood out, as he regularly does in this type of assessment, thanks to his ability to sustain high intensity over long periods, once again confirming his physical reliability.
Perhaps the most surprising name was Alaba. Despite limited minutes and several muscle injuries this season, the defender excelled in a test that particularly measures endurance and focuses on aerobic capacity.
