Real Madrid youngster Joan Martínez was on Saturday afforded a fresh opportunity to prove himself at senior level.

This came by way of a call-up to training alongside the rest of Xabi Alonso’s squad at Valdebebas.

Real Madrid are of course primed to return to action tomorrow evening, when they play host to Celta Vigo in a La Liga clash.

This morning, Los Blancos’ players were therefore put through their final preparatory session in Spain’s capital.

And as alluded to above, called upon to play his part in as much was defensive starlet Joan Martínez.

Joan, an 18-year-old central defender, is widely considered to be the future of Real Madrid’s backline.

After spending a year on the sidelines with an ACL injury, the Spaniard has over recent months reestablished himself as a leading figure at Real Madrid Castilla.

And Xabi Alonso, it would appear, has taken full note of his recent performances, ahead of a potential call to face Celta Vigo on Sunday:
