Real Madrid’s Santiago Bernabeu ranks fourth among stadiums with highest attendance in Europe

The Santiago Bernabeu recently made headlines by expertly hosting an NFL football game, an event that drove in a large amount of crowd as well as famous footballers to the iconic stadium.
However, Bernabeu’s greatest attraction remains football, with the stadium continuing to rank highest among Europe in terms of average attendance.
This season has been no exception. According to Transfermarkt (h/t Mundo Deportivo), which has recently published a list of stadiums with the highest attendance in Europe, Real Madrid firmly ranking fourth.
The Santiago Bernabeu, boasting an average attendance of 73,782 spectators per league match, ranks highest among the stadiums in Spain.
The club have achieved an 88.7% occupancy rate across its 83,186 seats during the six league matches hosted so far this campaign.

At the top, Borussia Dortmund’s Signal Iduna Park continues its reign as the gold standard for fan support.
The stadium has long dominated global attendance rankings and this season is no different, filling to 100% capacity with an average of 81,365 spectators per match.
Bayern Munich’s Allianz Arena follows in second place with an average of 75,000 fans, while Manchester United’s Old Trafford rounds out the top three with 73,969.
The data highlights a disparity between La Liga and its European counterparts. Germany leads the ranking with robust fan engagement, whereas Spain places only three teams in the top 25.
Beyond Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid occupy the tenth place with an average attendance of 62,153 at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano. Real Betis are the only other Spanish representative, sitting in 20th place.
Betis fans contribute an average of 56,993 spectators to the stadium’s attendance.
