Harry Kane’s contract with FC Bayern runs until 2027 and the Munich club are keen to extend it as soon as possible. It has now been revealed that the Englishman has been targeted by the Saudi Pro League
Harry Kane continues to deliver world-class performances in his third season at FC Bayern. The 32-year-old scored twice in the 5-1 win over TSG Hoffenheim and now has a total of 24 Bundesliga goals
Across all competitions, the England captain has 45 goals and nine assists in 40 appearances – figures that underline his status as an undisputed fixture in the Bayern game. Accordingly, there is a great desire at Säbener Straße to extend the goalscorer’s contract beyond 2027 at an early stage
However, the situation is not quite as straightforward as it seems in sporting terms. According to kicker, there are intense internal discussions about an exit clause that is said to be anchored in Kane’s current contract. This is said to be in the region of 60 to 70 million euros and would allow the attacker to leave early. Until now, the end of January was considered to be the deadline by which this clause would have had to be activated. However, there are now whispers at Säbener Straße that Kane could actually have a month longer – until the end of February. If this is the case, the striker would still have some leeway to inform FC Bayern of his intentions

Those responsible at Munich are aware of this situation and have already held initial talks with Kane, with sporting director Max Eberl recently confirming reports to this effect. The record champions‘ aim is clear: to tie Kane down for the long term, also with a view to their sporting plans for the coming years. But Bayern are clearly not alone
In addition to loose interest from the Premier League, kicker reports that Saudi Arabia is increasingly coming into focus. At least one club from the Saudi Professional League is said to be preparing an extremely lucrative offer – if not for next summer, then for 2027 at the latest. Clubs such as Al-Ahli or Al-Ittihad, which recently lost Karim Benzema to Al-Hilal, are said to have a need in the center of attack. Kane would fit perfectly into the profile of the league, which continues to focus on international superstars in the run-up to the 2034 World Cup
For Bayern, this means that the competition for their most important player could become much more financially powerful. Although Kane and his family feel very comfortable in Munich and appreciate the sporting prospects at the record champions, the release clause puts him in a strong negotiating position. Nevertheless, optimism prevails at Säbener Straße that Kane knows what he has at FC Bayern – both in sporting and structural terms. Whether that is enough to resist the lure from the desert is likely to be decided in the coming months.
