Leeds United supporter Michael "Little Mick" Hewitt, 65, has been found after more than 10 days missing.

His brother Gary Hewitt said in a social media post on Wednesday morning that he had been located, writing: "Fantastic news!" He added that "Little Mick is safe and well in Barcelona, and was blissfully unaware that the world was searching for him!"

Michael travelled from Leeds to Barcelona last week, where he was due to catch a connecting flight to Boston for England's group-stage match against Ghana.

He had been missing since 21 June, and after 10 days without contact his family reported him missing. The appeal for information was widely shared by media and across the football community.

The family had wanted an embarrassingly simple but happy ending and now have that, with further details to follow once authorities are notified and normality returns. "A million thanks to each and every person who has helped to bring Mick home safely, and for all the good wishes. It's amazing what can be achieved when the good people of the world go Marching on Together."
