Milan seem to have locked down Mario Gila from Lazio, but it’s reported they also intend to buy Goncalo Inacio from Sporting CP, selling Fikayo Tomori.

Multiple sources today including Sky Sport Italia confirm that Gila has agreed personal terms with the Rossoneri, a five-year contract worth €5m per season including bonuses, with Lazio expected to accept an offer of €25m plus add-ons.

However, that does not mean their pursuit of Sporting CP defender Goncalo Inacio is over.

Milan want both Gila and Goncalo Inacio

Instead, Calciomercato’s Milan correspondent Daniele Longo insists on his YouTube channel that new coach Ruben Amorim wants to completely revamp his defence with two big signings.

Gila is expected to become the figure on the right of a back three, effectively replacing Tomori, whose contract is due to expire in June 2027.

The Englishman did have a verbal agreement to extend his deal, but that was with the former club directors who have all been sacked, so the situation has changed.

Goncalo Inacio is not going to be cheap, as Sporting CP want around €40-45m including add-ons to sell the defender who turns 25 next month and is currently at the World Cup with Portugal.

The Milan defence can then consist of Goncalo Inacio, Mario Gila, Koni De Winter, Matteo Gabbia and Strahinja Pavlovic.
