Inter Milan have reportedly decided to activate the buyout clause in their loan agreement with Manchester City for Manuel Akanji.

According to Tuttosport via FCInterNews, the Swiss center-back has already impressed the Nerazzurri hierarchy.

Manuel Akanji joined Inter on deadline day after falling out of favor at the Etihad Stadium.

Furthermore, the Italian powerhouse included a buyout option in their loan deal with Man City.

Therefore, Inter can purchase the 30-year-old for €15 million at the end of the season.

Despite spending only two months at San Siro, Akanji has already become a vital first-team member.

As such, Beppe Marotta has reportedly informed his agents of Inter’s desire to make his transfer permanent.

Moreover, the 20-time Serie A champions are ready to tie him down to a multi-year contract running until 2028.

In the meantime, Inter plan to finance Akanji’s purchase from the sale of Benjamin Pavard.

Indeed, the Frenchman moved to Marseille on loan in the final hours of the summer transfer window.
