The Blues have paid the price for not signing a replacement for Levi Colwill, who suffered an ACL injury before the start of the season.

Chelsea tried to do a deal for Jeremy Jacquet in January, but failed in their pursuit as the France under-21 international opted for Liverpool instead.

Liam Rosenior wants starting quality centre back

Chelsea have had real issues defensively this season, with a number of costly individual mistakes being made, which have caused dropped points.

The Blues have kept just four clean sheets since Rosenior arrived with three of those against Port Vale, Pafos and Hull City.

A top centre back has to be the priority this summer, and the Blues have been linked with Nottingham Forest’s Murillo.

Football London have reported Chelsea are prioritising signing a centre back this summer, and want to add starting level quality in that position.

The arrival of new centre back is bad news for the likes of Josh Acheampong and Benoit Badiashile who are already struggling for minutes.
