In his one and a half seasons at FC Barcelona, Hansi Flick has proven himself to be a manager who is disciplined in his methods yet maintains a close bond with his players. This balance is evident in the way he communicates with his squad during training sessions, creating an environment where players feel both challenged and supported.
The connection between Flick and Raphinha has been particularly noticeable, with the duo often seen exchanging intense discussions on the touchline during matches. However, Flick’s approach has been notably different with Dro Fernandez, the 18-year-old La Masia graduate whose departure from Barcelona is now imminent.
When news of Dro’s decision to leave the club emerged, it was reported that Flick was deeply disappointed, given the faith he had placed in the young midfielder. Initially, the German manager prohibited Dro from using the club’s facilities as he awaited the resolution of his transfer.

However, as SPORT has revealed, Barcelona first-team captains intervened to help manage a difficult situation. They spoke with Flick, encouraging him to reconsider his stance, and the manager eventually allowed the youngster to continue training individually at the Ciutat Esportiva while his move was finalized.
It is evident that Hansi Flick has been deeply affected by Dro’s decision to leave. He stopped short of discussing it in detail in his pre-match press conference ahead of the Real Sociedad game, but his initial punishment reflects his emotions.
Regardless, as the manager put it, Barcelona do not want players who do not want to stay, and let us wait and see how long it takes before Dro’s departure is formalised.
