Dusan Vlahovic remains the highest-earning player in Serie A, with his €12 million per year contract far clear of the €9 million earned by Inter’s Lautaro Martinez.

According to information published by Calcio e Finanza, via Sport Mediaset, new Bianconeri signing Jonathan David also becomes the joint-5th highest earner in the league.

Vlahovic is by far and away the highest earner, with Martinez following behind. The gap between Vlahovic and the Argentine is €3 million, whilst the gap between Martinez and 3rd-place Barella and Calhanoglu is another €2.5 million.

The disparity in wages and the concerted effort to waste less on salaries means that the money paid to players signed this summer seems lower in comparison.

Manuel Akanji becomes Inter’s 5th highest paid player whilst new Bianconeri stars David, Lois Openda and Edon Zhegrova enter the Old Lady’s contract rankings in 2nd, 5th and 10th.

Inter’s top ten earners:

Lautaro Martinez: €9 million; Barella: €6.5 million; Calhanoglu: €6.5 million; Thuram: €6 million; Akanji: €5 million; Bastoni: €5.5 million; Zielinski: €4.5 million; Dumfries: €4 million; Dimarco: €4 million; Mkhitaryan and de Vrij: €3.8 million;

Juventus’ top ten earners:

Vlahovic: €12 million; David: €6 million; Bremer: €5 million; Koopmeiners: €4.5 million; Openda: €4 million; Conceiçao: €3.8 million; Gatti: €3.1 million; Locatelli: €3 million; McKennie: €2.5 million; Kostic and Zhegrova: €2.5 million

Serie A: Milan wage woes as Origi on more than Napoli’s McTominay

New Milan signings Adrien Rabiot and Christopher Nkunku arrive on the same wage as Portuguese forward Rafael Leao, making the trio the Rossoneri’s highest-paid players. However, in some shock, Divock Origi stayed in Lombardy and is currently on a wage of €4 million per season, making him the club’s joint-fourth highest earner, despite not having played a match for the side since the 2022-23 season.

Napoli continue to keep their wages relatively low, with the exception of new signings Kevin De Bruyne and Rasmus Hojlund, whose salaries of €5.5 million and €5 million respectively see them become the club’s 2nd and 3rd top earners, behind Romelu Lukaku. Last season’s Serie A MVP Scott McTominay earns just €3 million per season.
