Wolves supporters have reacted with anger after it emerged former chairman Jeff Shi received a pay rise during a loss-making season.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, the club's 2024/25 accounts show a £15.3 million loss. Revenue fell from £177.7 million to £172 million and the team dropped two places to 16th in the Premier League, marking a fourth successive year of losses.

Shi received a £124,000 increase. The highest paid director earned £688,000, up from £564,000 the previous year. The director was not named, but is understood to be Shi, who was chairman at the time.

Supporters voiced anger on social media, labelling the situation rewarding failure. Many questioned how owners Fosun had allowed this to happen and what justified the rise.

Others highlighted ticket price increases during a cost of living crisis, saying the sum dwarfs what many fans earn in years. There were also complaints about the summer transfer window and worries over losing long-standing season ticket holders.
