Spain’s 1-0 extra-time win over Argentina in New York confirmed Rodri as the seventh player to have won the World Cup, the Euro or Copa America, the Champions League and a Ballon d'Or.
According to L'Équipe, the midfielder was also named player of the tournament at this World Cup.

His honours list was already extensive before the final, and this latest triumph completes a rare set.
Only six had done so before him. They were Franz Beckenbauer and Gerd Müller with Germany and Bayern Munich, Zinédine Zidane with France and Real Madrid, Rivaldo with Brazil and AC Milan, Ronaldinho with Brazil and Barcelona, and Lionel Messi with Argentina and Barcelona.
Rodri’s collection now reads Ballon d'Or 2024, Euro 2024 and the 2024 Champions League, joined on Sunday by the 2026 World Cup.
