Rodrigo Garro plays every game in Corinthians’ February marathon

Corinthians faced an unusually busy February in terms of their schedule. The intense sequence of matches led coach Dorival Júnior to adopt a rotation system for the team. Even so, one name was present in every fixture: Rodrigo Garro.

Throughout the month, Timão competed in three tournaments: the Supercopa do Brasil, Campeonato Paulista, and Campeonato Brasileiro Série A, taking the field nine times. Given the marathon of games, the coach had to frequently alternate the lineups to physically preserve the squad.

Even with the frequent changes, whether starting among the first eleven or coming off the bench, Garro took part in every match played by Corinthians during this period. Adding up the 90 regulation minutes of each match, the club accumulated 810 minutes on the field in February. Considering stoppage time, that number rises to 903 minutes—more than 15 hours of play in just 28 days.

Despite having played in every match, the Argentine midfielder does not lead the team's minutes ranking for the month. According to data from Ogol, counting only regulation time, Garro was on the field for 534 minutes. Ahead of him are goalkeeper Hugo Souza, with 720 minutes, and left-back Matheus Bidu, with 680, both present in eight matches.

Other players also reached eight games during the month: midfielder Raniele, with 529 minutes; Dutchman Memphis Depay, with 520; and forward Vitinho, who totaled 358 minutes.

After the grueling sequence in February, Corinthians will have a ten-day break without official matches. The next game is scheduled for March 11, at Neo Química Arena, against Coritiba, for the fifth round of the Campeonato Brasileiro.
