Johan Rojas will wear Vasco’s No 10 from their next Campeonato Brasileiro match. The Colombian has adapted quickly and stands out among six recent signings.

According to Globo.com, Rojas has impressed at CT Moacyr Barbosa and is viewed as quick to settle. He has 11 appearances, six starts, the most of any recruit this year.

Others are still finding their feet. Brenner arrived to lead the line but has endured a frustrating opening, with one goal in eight outings and a costly missed penalty against Fluminense in the Carioca semi-final second leg.

Argentine centre-forward Spinelli briefly displaced Brenner against Fluminense and Santos, yet offered little threat. Coaches value his work-rate and intensity. He has one goal in five games.

Marino Hinestroza arrived to fanfare yet early displays are below expectations. The club remain confident he will improve with adaptation and rhythm. He has seven substitute appearances, averaging 22 minutes, and no goal contributions.

Left-back Cuiabano signed in early February short of team-mates’ fitness after January with Nottingham Forest’s under-21s. He has two cameos and no starts.

At centre-back, Alan Saldivia arrived on Fernando Diniz’s request as cover for Cuesta on the right. He has seven games after stepping in during a partner’s injury. Strong in duels and in the air, he has also made simple errors in build-up.

Rojas will debut the No 10 on Thursday against Palmeiras at São Januário. Kick-off is 19:30 Brasília time as Renato Gaúcho takes charge of Vasco for the first time.
