Ronaldinho to headline Sunderland legends match at Stadium of Light in May | OneFootball

Brazil legend Ronaldinho will front a post-season legends match at the Stadium of Light, facing a UK Icons side led by former Sunderland striker Jermain Defoe.

According to Sunderland Echo, Ronaldinho will appear on Monday 25 May, kick-off 5pm, the day after Sunderland finish their Premier League season at home to Chelsea.

Ronaldinho will turn out for Ronaldinho & Friends, with confirmed teammates including Djibril Cissé, World Cup winner Kléberson, goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes, full-backs Fábio and Rafael, plus Fernando and Anderson.

Tickets are on sale via the club's site, priced from £25 for adults and £20 for concessions. Hospitality options include Quinn's Sports Bar at £100 and executive boxes at £1,500 for 10 guests. Stadium parking costs £10.

The occasion brings one of football's most recognisable figures to Wearside. A two-time FIFA World Player of the Year and Ballon d'Or winner, Ronaldinho starred for Barcelona, AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain, helped Brazil lift the 2002 World Cup and earned 97 caps with 33 goals.
