Rosenior admits to Garnacho issue in latest statement about transfer

Liam Rosenior dismissed reports that Alejandro Garnacho could be sold – but in doing so admitted the winger isn’t at his best.

Rumours that Alejandro Garnacho might be sold by Chelsea spread after the Saturday night defeat to Man U, almost as a response to the Argentine’s horrible performance in that game.

By the time yesterday’s press conference had come around, the story had got big enough that Liam Rosenior had to field questions about it.

As you’d expect, he batted the rumours away.

Rosenior backs Garnacho, but admits he’s not in form

“I’d like to know the source of the report. Reports can come from anywhere. He is 21 years old. He is someone who has special qualities when he is in a good place and he’s in form. It’s my job is to help him reach those levels.”

That statement rubbishes the rumours, but implicitly says that Garnacho isn’t in good form. We didn’t need to be told that to be honest – you can tell from the way Garnacho has been benched even with Jamie Gittens out injured recently that Rosenior doesn’t fancy him.

If there is a half decent offer for the former United winger, we’re sure Chelsea would take it. Sadly it’s doubtful we’ll get one.
