The Red Devils’ injury situation has certainly improved this season and they head to north London with just one first-team player doubtful after Harry Maguire returned in the draw with Nottingham Forest last weekend.

Speaking in the pre-match press conference on Thursday afternoon, Amorim believes luck is playing a huge part in Man Utd’s new luck on the injury front.

"No, there’s no change [to what we are doing about injuries]," he told reporters. "It’s one game every week and then a little bit of luck, because sometimes you have problems with players with knocks, it’s not something that is soft tissues.

"So you never know what is going to happen in the next training. If you play with intensity in training, something can happen, but I think the big reason… of course, we try to do everything well, the big reason is [we have only] one game every week.

"You can give one extra day to the players that you know could struggle in the next training. I think that is the biggest reason."

While Amorim’s injury update is positive, it remains to be seen if Lisandro Martinez will be included in the matchday squad against Spurs for the Saturday lunchtime kick-off in the capital.

Martinez returned to full training last week after spending much of the year on the sidelines as a result of suffering an ACL in the defeat to Crystal Palace back in February.

There were hopes that the Argentine would feature in Man Utd’s trip to the City Ground but Amorim ruled that the centre-back needed more time to build up his fitness.

With Man United not in Europe this season - as a result of losing last season’s Europa League final against Tottenham - Martinez has been able to have a full week of training which means a return to action should not be too far away.
