A month after leaving Manchester United, Ruben Amorim, who has been linked with Benfica, has opted to remain silent.

According to the Daily Mail, that stance will continue at least until the end of the 2025/26 season, a decision intended not to interfere with his successor's work at Old Trafford. The report, citing a source close to Amorim, adds that he wants to respect the process under way at the club.

Amorim's exit followed a disappointing first half of the campaign. A draw at Leeds United, at Elland Road, and the press conference that followed precipitated the end of his tenure.

Michael Carrick has started well, with three straight wins. Manchester United beat Manchester City 2-0 at Old Trafford, won 3-2 at Arsenal's Emirates Stadium, then overcame Fulham 3-2 back at home.

Those results lifted United to fourth in the Premier League, on 41 points after 24 matches.

Attention now turns to the visit of Tottenham in matchweek 25, scheduled for Saturday at 12:30 at Old Trafford, as United seek to consolidate their Champions League position.
