MC Alger head coach Rulani Mokwena has been slapped with heavy sanctions by the Ligue Professionnelle 1 Disciplinary Committee, according to a document seen by Foot Africa.
The Algerian football governing body was issuing fines to clubs, players and coaches following the conclusion of matchday 20, and the defending champions were among the perpetrators.
MCA captain Ayoub Abdellaoui and goalkeeper Alexis Guendouz were both fined 100, 000 DZD (R12 000) for protesting against the referees.
Mokwena, on the other hand, received three separate punishments, including a 100, 000 DZD (R12 000) for protesting against the officials in their 2-1 defeat to MC Oran in the last league outing.
Furthermore, the South African tactician was fined 40, 000 DZD (R4 000) for deliberate accumulation of yellow cards.
The final nail on the coffin was a last warning before harsher penalty, accompanied by yet another 100,000 DZD fine (R12 000), for refusal to attend a mandatory post-match press conference.
Mokwena is skating on thin ice, with the final warning indicating that failure to attend post-match media duties will lead to heavier sanctions - potentially suspension.
Meanwhile, the 39-year-old tactician and his troops will swing back to action with a clash against Josef Zinnbauer's JS Kabylie on Thursday (23:00).
