Salomé Prat surprised by Benfica return announced on social media

Salomé Prat was caught off guard when Benfica confirmed her return from a loan at DUX Logroño via a club social media post. She had believed a permanent stay in Spain was possible.

The player said in a post that talks had been ongoing about remaining, that Logroño seemed very keen to keep her, and that she only learned of the decision from the post three days after the season ended. She also expressed her gratitude.

The 24-year-old winger is under contract with Benfica until 2028. She made 15 appearances and scored two goals last season, leaving a positive impression at DUX Logroño.

For now, she is expected to report for the start of Benfica’s pre-season.

Her future remains open, and another move in the transfer window is not ruled out if new opportunities arise to continue her career outside Portugal.
