Samuel Eto'o has received a four-match suspension from CAF following Morocco v Cameroon at AFCON, a ruling Cameroon’s federation is contesting.

Announced on Wednesday evening, it followed an investigation into the Fecafoot president’s conduct after Friday’s quarter-final. The federation said in a statement that the decision lacked any explicit justification.

Eto'o, 44, had been angered by refereeing decisions during the match, which Morocco won 2-0.

Footage showed him turning towards Fouzi Lekjaa, the Moroccan federation president, and Patrice Motsepe, the CAF president.

The federation’s statement was published on its social media channels.
