Santos in talks to host Coritiba at Corinthians' Neo Química Arena on 17 May | OneFootball

Santos are in talks with Corinthians to stage their 16th-round meeting with Coritiba at Neo Química Arena in Itaquera on 17 May at 11:00 Brasília time.

According to Globo.com, the club have also opened discussions with the CBF to shift the fixture from Vila Belmiro to the city of São Paulo.

The Itaquera venue will be available that day, as Corinthians face Botafogo in Rio de Janeiro on the same date.

The match will be Santos and Neymar’s final outing before Carlo Ancelotti announces Brazil’s 26 players for the World Cup, with the Italian to finalise the squad on 18 May.

Staging more games in the capital is an aim of the Santos board, which maintains a good relationship with Corinthians’ hierarchy.

Moving the Coritiba tie in May also aligns with a request from Cuca, who wants to host matches at Vila Belmiro early in his tenure. This switch would give the staff breathing space to respect their plan.
