Santos have confirmed Neymar’s contract until December and completed the signing of Gabigol, and are moving to the next phase of their squad plan, targeting a luxury supporting cast.

According to Globo.com, the club aim to finalise two further deals in the coming weeks, Chilean midfielder Felipe Loyola and forward Rony.

Offers are on the table to Independiente of Argentina and Atlético-MG, and both players would arrive with a chance to compete for a starting place.

For Rony, Santos are prepared to buy the 30-year-old outright for $2 million, R$ 10.75 million, after first exploring a loan. Atlético-MG consider the proposals insufficient so far and are weighing up keeping the player.

Loyola’s situation also remains unresolved. Santos have offered $6 million, R$ 32 million, to Independiente, but another club is holding up the move.

Huachipato of Chile own a share of the player’s rights and have not been convinced by the financial guarantees presented by Santos. The club continue to track market options in line with a limited budget and a target of financial balance for the year, a goal backed by the Fiscal Council.
