Lionel Scaloni is tracking fitness concerns as Argentina gather for their next camp before the World Cup. Some players could require late calls on availability.
According to SuperDepor.com, Emiliano Martínez has a minor ring finger fracture but is not seen as a risk for selection.
Right-back is the main concern. Nahuel Molina is in the final stage of recovery from a grade one left hamstring strain and should make the call-up, albeit short of match sharpness. Gonzalo Montiel is recovering from a left quadriceps tear sustained in mid-May and his availability hinges on how he comes through upcoming sessions.
Cristian Romero has been nursing an issue, with optimistic medical reports suggesting he should join the group as normal. Leandro Paredes is viewed as the most delicate case, a muscle tear leaving his participation in the opener in serious doubt.
Nicolás González is still rehabilitating a left thigh tear from late April. He should arrive in decent shape, yet there is not full certainty and his training response will determine if he is available from the start.
The positives include Lionel Messi, Julián Álvarez, Thiago Almada and Nicolás Paz, whose minor knocks are easing and they are expected to link up without trouble.
Scaloni and his staff are already weighing alternatives, with Giay, Capaldo, Domínguez, Soulé, Perrone and Buendía mentioned. The aim is to arrive with the squad as complete as possible and to avoid unnecessary risks.
