Andreas Schjelderup's future at Benfica Lisbon appears to be over, amid rising interest from the Bundesliga, Premier League and Serie A.

According to the 'Record', the Portuguese club wants to offload the 21-year-old in January and has set a price tag of €25million.

The desire to sell is likely due to the public indictment by a Danish court accusing the Norwegian player of distributing a sexually explicit video that also featured minors.

Schjelderup publicly apologized in recent days for his actions, which he committed when he was 19 years old.

Nevertheless, according to the Portuguese newspaper in Lisbon, he has fallen out of favor and is to be sold.

Especially since Benfica coach José Mourinho hasn't used the right-footed player much since his arrival and publicly criticized his protégé:

“Schjelderup is Schjelderup. He struggles for 90 minutes, he struggles with intensity and the willingness to sacrifice himself in transition.”

Almost three years ago, Benfica picked up Schjelderup from Nordsjaelland for a fee of around €9million.

This season, the left winger has made 15 appearances in all competitions, scoring two goals and providing one assist.
