Real Madrid may not be finished in the summer transfer window with two player sales potentially on the cards.
La Liga joined the majority of Europe’s major domestic leagues by closing their transfer window on September 1, so Xabi Alonso cannot sign more players until January.
However, the Turkish Super Lig window is still open until the 12th of September, and that could impact Real Madrid, in the efforts to offload squad players.
Raul Asencio, who has yet to play a single minute since a disastrous performance against Paris Saint-Germain in the Club World Cup semi-finals, has been linked with a shock exit to Turkey.
Alonso is rumoured to be unconvinced by Asencio, who was a regular starter for Real Madrid last season and that could be an advantage for Besiktas, with Diario AS reporting the Turkish giants want to sign the 22-year-old before their transfer window closes.
Despite the rumours, Asencio has reportedly told Alonso he does not want to leave, and is happy to stay as a back up and fight for his place with Dean Huijsen, Antonio Rudiger and Eder Militao.
Whilst a move for Asenscio looks tricky at this stage, Fenerbahce could launch a bid for David Alaba, who is also out of Alonso’s plans as per Diario Sport.
The Austria international has struggled to regain full fitness following a knee injury and his contract will not be extended beyond next summer.
Despite the recent exit of Jose Mourinho, Fenerbahce are still looking to strengthen, and Alaba would experience to their backline.
However, the main stumbling block could be his salary, with the former Bayern Munich defender one of the highest earning stars in Madrid.
Fenerbahce would need to convince him on a major wage cut to secure and he may hold out for a lucrative switch to the Saudi Pro League in 2026.
