MEXICO CITY – The 2025 Concacaf Champions Cup is in the history books following Cruz Azul’s 5-0 win over Vancouver Whitecaps FC in the final on Sunday at Estadio Olímpico Universitario in Mexico City, Mexico.
The seven-time Champions Cup winners led the way with top performances, including the following players who earned individual distinctions.
Best Player Award, presented by Scotiabank: Ángel Sepúlveda, Cruz Azul
Ángel Sepúlveda received the Best Player Award, presented by Scotiabank, for his involvement in helping Cruz Azul win a record-tying seventh Concacaf Champions Cup title. Sepúlveda was instrumental throughout the campaign, totaling 11 goal contributions with nine goals and two assists, including two goals in the final.
The Mexican forward contributed to his team’s tally by scoring or assisting in seven of nine matches throughout the tournament and had multiple goal contributions on three occasions.
Best Goalkeeper Award: Kevin Mier, Cruz Azul
Kevin Mier was recognized as the Best Goalkeeper of the tournament for his outstanding performances for champions Cruz Azul. He was a key figure for the team with nine saves and three clean sheets in seven appearances.
Mier helped the Cementeros keep Tigres UANL scoreless in a crucial second leg encounter in the Semifinals, before posting another clean sheet in the Final against Vancouver Whitecaps FC.
Top Goal Scorer, presented by Aramco: Ángel Sepúlveda, Cruz Azul
Ángel Sepúlveda finished the tournament with nine goals to claim the Top Goal Scorer Award, presented by Aramco. The Mexican striker closed out the campaign with a brace in the championship match.
Sepúlveda had three multi-goal games in the 2025 edition, scoring braces in the second leg of Round One against Real Hope, in the Quarterfinals return fixture against Club América, and in the Final against Vancouver.
Young Player Award, presented by Aramco: Noah Allen, Inter Miami CF
Noah Allen of Inter Miami CF is the winner of the Young Player Award, presented by Aramco.
The 21-year-old defender featured in eight matches, including six starts. Allen recorded a 91.7% tackle success rate with a total 11 tackles won, 17 clearances, nine interceptions and five blocks.
Fair Play Award: Vancouver Whitecaps FC
Vancouver Whitecaps FC earned the Fair Play Award as the team that best conducted themselves throughout the tournament.
